Remove upper control panel control unit

Remove stowage compartment or beverage holder

Remove bolts (1)

Lift center air vent (2) until it is released from the fastenings (arrow) on the COMAND operating, display and controller unit (A40/3)

Installation: Ensure that center air nozzle (2) is correctly seated in the fastenings (arrow) at the COMAND operating, display and controller unit (A40/3).

Pull COMAND operating, display and controller unit (A40/3) out of center console (3) until electrical connector (4) and the electrical connector with fiber optic cable connector (5) are accessible

Disconnect electrical connector with fiber optic cable connector (5)

Cover electrical connector with fiber optic cable connector (5)

Disconnect electrical connector (4) and remove COMAND operating, display and controller unit (A40/3)

Install in the reverse order

Perform function check of the COMAND operating, display and controller unit (A40/3)
