Remove cover below steering wheel

Remove footweel ventilation air duct

Unscrew trim ring (4) from EIS [EZS] control unit (N73) and remove EIS [EZS] control unit (N73) downward

 Installation: The guide of the shift-lock cable on the EIS [EZS] control unit (N73) (arrow) should point downward.

 Claw wrench for trim ring on ignition/starter switch

Install in the reverse order

Connect Star Diagnosis and perform initial startup for EZS control unit (N73)

When replacing EZS control unit (N73)

Carry out function test of shift-lock

Model 906 with code (G40) Automatic transmission

 It must only be possible to shift the selector lever out of position "P" in key position "2" and when the brake pedal is depressed. It should only be possible to remove the vehicle key when the selector lever is in position "P".
