Danger! | Risk of injury caused by body parts being pinched or crushed as cab is tilted | Ensure that no one is within the tilting range of the cab as it is being tilted. Always tilt the cab all the way to the end position and secure with the safety strut.
1 | Remove engine hood | See operator's manual
2 | Loosen intake hose (1) from air filter and remove | Close both openings.
3 | Move cab lock to unlocked position (3)
4 | Shift group selector lever to stage II
5 | Shift main shift lever to center position
6 | Check oil level in hydraulic pump | See operator's manual
7 | Close locking valve on cylinder of hydraulic pump | Tilting back: Open again locking valve only after titling back. The locking valve must always be open while driving, in order to maintain correct pressure compensation of torsion.
8 | Move pump lever (7) of hydraulic pump to "lift" position | On vehicles with special equipment, remove electronic, hydraulic, pneumatic lines and Bowden cables and plug. Check oil level after tilting back.
Tilt back: Move pump lever (7) to "Lower" position.
9 | Insert extension tube into hydraulic pump and slowly pump up cab. | Raise cab until safety rope (5) can be installed.
| Notes on tilting the cab | Model 405, 408, 418, 427, 436.330, 437 | |
10 | Fasten suitable safety rope (5) with shackles to cab and frame | Install safety rope (5) so that cab does not tilt beyond dead center position.
11 | Carefully continue to pump up cab. | Lift cab only until safety strut (4) can be installed
Tilting back: Actuate hydraulic pump until cab is in driving position and a noticeable resistance can be felt or the cab lock arrests audibly.
12 | Install suitable safety strut (4)
13 | Lower in reverse sequence | Ensure that lines, gearshift levers, hoses, etc. have sufficient clearance. |
