 Warning

Risk of burn injuries, suffocation and poisoning when working on the exhaust system and the components connected to it. Risk of suffocation and risk of poisoning caused by inhalation of gaseous and solid components of the exhaust. Risk of poisoning caused by skin contact with solid components of the exhaust.

Wear protective clothing and safety glasses. Use the extraction system. Move people out of the hazard area.

Remove/install

Raise vehicle.

Remove NOx sensor (2) and remove from front exhaust system (1).

Note on calculation of tightening torque when using insertion or socket tools with various effective lengths

 Installation: Coat thread of the NOx sensors (2) with heat-resistant lubricating paste.

Release clamp (3).

 Installation: Replace clamp (3).

 Clamp to front exhaust system and center exhaust system/SCR catalytic converter

Release clamp (4).

 Installation: Replace clip (4).

 Clamp to diesel particulate filter and front exhaust system

Remove front exhaust system (1) from the elastomer bearing (6) and remove downward.

 Installation: Wet elastomer bearing (6) with lubricant.

Lubricant, rubber assembly 1 l

Remove seal (5).

 Installation: Install new seal (5).



Clean

Remove combustion and corrosion residue at connecting points.



Check

Check elastomer bearing (6) for damage.

If damage is identified,



replace elastomer bearing (6).

Install in the reverse order



Check

Check installation position and unobstructed movement of the front exhaust system (1) and correct if necessary.

 Warning

Risk of accident from vehicle starting off by itself when engine running. Risk of injury (bruises and burns) resulting from working on the engine while it is being started or when it is running.

Secure vehicle to prevent it from starting off by itself. Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes. Do not touch hot or rotating parts.

Perform engine test run and check leak tightness of the front exhaust system (1).
