Detach/attach filler neck on fuel tank

Remove/install

 Danger!

Risk of explosion caused by fuel igniting, risk of poisoning caused by inhaling and swallowing fuel and risk of injury to eyes and skin caused by contact with fuel

No fire, sparks, open flames or smoking.
Only pour fuels into suitable and appropriately marked containers.

Wear protective clothing when handling fuel.

Remove right rear wheel well cover

Check fill level in fuel tank

 If fill level is above fuel tank neck (9), suction off fuel:



Empty/fill fuel tank

Loosen hose clamps (2)

 Installation: Replace hose clamps (2).

Detach hoses (3)

 Installation: Check hoses (3) and replace if necessary.

Detach hose (4)

 Only on model 463.243/244/245/246/247/248/249/
250/254/270/271

Detach fuel tank vent hoses (5) at fuel tank

 Installation: Check vent hoses (5) and replace if necessary.

Loosen hose clamps (7)

Detach connecting hose (8) from fuel tank neck (9)

 Installation: Ensure connecting hose (8) is correctly attached otherwise fuel vapors or fuel may escape.

 Installation: Check connecting hose (8) and replace if necessary.

Seal opening at tank connector pipe (9)

 To prevent dirt ingress.

Remove filler neck (6)

 To do this, undo bolt (10), remove tank filler cap and push connecting hose (8) at filler neck (6) upwards.

Install in the reverse order
