Remove/install

Remove noise damper upstream of charge air cooler.

Extract hydraulic fluid from hydraulic fluid reservoir of power steering system.

Remove front wheel (1).

Remove fender liner (2).

Slacken poly-V-belt (3) and remove from power-steering pump.

Remove banjo bolt (4), remove hydraulic line (5) from power-steering pump (6) and seal openings with suitable stop plugs.

 Collect escaping hydraulic fluid with an absorbent rag.

Loosen clamp (7), detach hydraulic hose (8) from power-steering pump (6) and seal openings using suitable stop plugs.

 Collect escaping hydraulic fluid with an absorbent rag.

Remove screws (9) and remove power-steering pump (6).

 Bolt, power steering pump to crankcase

Install in the reverse order.

 Warning

Risk of accident from vehicle starting off by itself when engine running. Risk of injury (bruises and burns) resulting from working on the engine while it is being started or when it is running.

Secure vehicle to prevent it from starting off by itself. Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes. Do not touch hot or rotating parts.
