| Remove/install | ||
1 | Remove steering column module. | ||
2 | Remove bottom trim for the instrument panel on the driver's side. | ||
3 | Remove driver knee airbag. | ||
4 | Remove footwell trim on driver's side. | ||
5.1 | Disconnect electrical connection (3). | Model 470, 471 | |
5.2 | Detach electrical connector (7). | Model 470, 471 | |
6 | Remove electrical wiring harness (4) and place to one side. | Installation: Replace respective cable tie. Check retaining clips for damage. | |
If damage is found, | |||

replace affected retaining clips. | |||
7 | Remove nut (2). | Installation: Replace nut (2). | |
Nut, steering shaft to steering column tube | |||
8 | Remove nuts (5). | | |
Nut, steering column tube steering shaft to instrument panel crossmember | |||
9 | Remove bolt (6). | | |
M8 | |||
10 | Detach steering column tube (1) from steering shaft and remove. | Installation: The steering column tube (1) only fits in one position onto the steering shaft. | |
11 | Install in the reverse order. |
