	Adjust
1	Measure and note down gaps		AR43.40-D-1500A
2	Remove retarder rotor to be adjusted		AR43.40-D-1600AD
3	Clean fouled pole plates (3) and rotor using wire brush	 Only if there is severe contamination:
			*BA43.40-N-1004-01B
4	Remove cover plate (2)
5	Adjust gap by removing or adding spacer washers (1)	 The black spacer washer (1) must be fitted first.
		Gap between rotor and stator	*BE43.40-N-1001-01B
			*WH58.30-Z-1002-12A
6	Insert cover plate (2)
7	Install retarder rotor	 Do not install the propeller shaft yet.	AR43.40-D-1600AD
8	Measure gap	 Repeat procedure if necessary	AR43.40-D-1500A
9	Connect propeller shaft		*BA41.10-N-1005-01D
