1 | Set electric parking brake to assembly mode using vehicle diagnosis system. | ||
| Connect STAR DIAGNOSIS and read out fault memory | ||
Installation: Deactivate assembly mode. | |||
2 | Remove spare wheel. | Model 447.8, 448.8 with code RR6 (Spare wheel with vehicle jack) | |

3 | Raise vehicle. | ||
4 | Remove rear underfloor paneling. |

5 | Disconnect electrical connector (1). | ||
6.1 | Detach brake cables (2) from brackets on rear axle differential and on semi-trailing arms. | Model 447.8 with engine 651, 654.9 | |
6.2 | Detach brake cables (2) from brackets on carrier plate (4) and on semi-trailing arms. | Model 447.8 with engine 780.702 | |
7 | Detach left and right brake cables (2) of rear brake cables. | ||
Do not remove the rear brake cables. | |||
8 | Remove electric parking brake (EFB) control unit (A13). | To do so, remove bolts (3). | |

9 | Remove electric parking brake (EFB) control unit (A13) from carrier plate (4). | If the electric parking brake (EFB) control unit (A13) is replaced. | |
Installation: Check spring washers for damage. | |||
If damage is found, | |||

Replace spring washers. | |||
10 | Install in the reverse order. | ||
11 | Calibrate electric parking brake (EFB) control unit (A13) using vehicle diagnosis system. | If the electric parking brake (EFB) control unit (A13) is replaced. | |
| Connect STAR DIAGNOSIS and read out fault memory | ||
Follow the menu procedures for calibration. | |||
12 | Remove vehicle diagnosis system. |
