Measure with the depth vernier caliper (1) the dimension (A) of steering knuckle to the master pin (3).

Measure with the depth vernier caliper (1) the dimension (B) of friction plate (4) until the support surface of the lower cover (5).

Adjust the axial play (F) of the steering knuckle . . 

 The axial play (F)can be calculated by:
Axial Play (F) = Measure (A) - Measure (B)

 In order to apply a preload, add 0.1 mm to the value of the calculated axial clearance (F) and determine a suitable washer.

 Washers are available in thicknesses from 3.60 mm with increment of 0.1 mm until reaching a thickness of 4.80 mm.

Mount the lower cover (5), without the sealing ring, move the steering knuckle (2) in the direction of the arrow. It should be noted a small resistance.

Remove the lower cover (5) and install the sealing ring.

Install the cover screw on the steering knuckle. . 
