Remove all plastic covers from the front axle

Disconnect front axle distributor plug connector (X62/6 or X62/7)

 Danger!

Risk of poisoning caused by swallowing brake fluid. Risk of injury caused by brake fluid coming into contact with skin and eyes.

Only pour brake fluid into suitable and appropriately marked containers. Wear protective clothing and eye protection when handling brake fluid.

Unscrew brake hose (39) from brake line

Protect the lines against dirt.

 Installation: 
The brake hose must not be twisted after tightening.

Open double end box wrench, WAF 8x9 mm or WAF 10x11 mm

Remove bolts (1f) for front axle carrier



 The bolts (1f) are self-tapping, so the following points must be observed:

 Never recut the thread in the longitudinal member

 Replace bolts

 Use only original bolts (4 x)

 When screwing bolts in, do not
position on a slant

 Do not use an impact bolt tightener

 Observe tightening torque

Lower front axle carrier

 Installation: The front axle carrier contact surfaces to the longitudinal member must be cleaned and flat.

Insert locating pins (arrows) at front axle carrier into the holes in the longitudinal member when fitting on.

If necessary, measure front axle carrier

 Replace self-locking nuts and bolts.
