Danger! | Danger to life from lowering vehicle when working between wheels and body. Risk of injury from being trapped or crushed when working on the air suspension | Do not work between wheel and wheel well or in wheel box. Only carry out check and adjustment operations from underneath the vehicle. Secure areas with moving vehicle parts against unauthorized access.
1 | Park vehicle on a level surface
Danger! | Risk of accident caused by vehicle starting off by itself when engine is running. Risk of injury caused by contusions and burns during starting procedure or when working near the engine as it is running | Secure vehicle to prevent it from moving by itself.
2 | Start engine and fill compressed-air system up to the cutoff pressure | The operating pressure may not drop below 8 bar during the test and adjustment operations.
3 | Turn off engine | ||
4 | Check tire inflation pressure, correct if necessary
| |||
5 | Check components of the compressed air supply and air spring bellows for leaks | If necessary, retighten line screwed connections or replace defective components.
6 | Check linkage of position sensors for level control at front and rear axle for damage and easy movement | In the event of a bent linkage or sluggish ball joint ends, replace linkage.

7 | Switch on ignition | ||
8 | In sequence check the normal level, lower level and upper level and the adjustment dimensions in the measuring range (H) between the axle and longitudinal frame member, adjust if necessary
