With the counter shaft bearing cap already positioned, use a depth caliper gauge and measure the distance from the housing face to the counter shaft bearing cap.

The shim must be 0.20 – 0.25 mm smaller than the value found  .

 To that amount, add the thickness of the sealing joint.
