Drain coolant at radiator

Remove coolant hose (6) on the coolant thermostat housing (1)

Coolant hose (6) with Henn coupling.

Disconnect electrical connector (4) at the thermostat (R48/1)

Unscrew bolts (5) and detach the coolant thermostat housing (1) at the timing case

The thermostat (R48/1) and the coolant thermostat housing (1) are tightly connected to each other. The thermostat (R48/1) must not be taken out of the coolant thermostat housing (1) as it gets damaged in the process.

Installation: Replace seal (3).
