Remove/install camshaft Hall sensor

Remove/install

Open engine hood and raise to vertical position

Remove front engine cover (1)

See Remove air filter housing.

Remove left or right engine intake air duct (2)

Detach expansion reservoir (3) of power steering from front cover on cylinder head by unscrewing bolts (4)

When removing the left exhaust camshaft Hall sensor (B6/6)



Swivel expansion reservoir (3) of power steering pump far enough to side until the left exhaust camshaft Hall sensor (B6/6) is accessible (arrow)

When removing the left exhaust camshaft Hall sensor (B6/6)

Disconnect plug from each camshaft Hall sensor.

Remove bolt (5) and remove each camshaft Hall sensor from front cover on cylinder head

 Installation: Replace sealing ring.



Install in the reverse order

Connect STAR DIAGNOSIS, read out fault memory and erase if necessary

 Danger!

Risk of accident caused by vehicle starting off by itself when engine is running. Risk of injury caused by contusions and burns during starting procedure or when working near the engine as it is running

Secure vehicle to prevent it from moving by itself.
Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes.
Do not touch hot or rotating parts.

Conduct engine test run and check engine for leaks
