Remove/install poly-V belt for compressor

Removing

Risk of death caused by vehicle slipping or toppling off the lifting platform.

Align vehicle between columns of vehicle lift and position four support plates at vehicle lift support points specified by vehicle manufacturer.

Raise vehicle with lifting platform

Remove expansion clips (2) and remove cover (3)

Place assembly tool (4) in front of poly-V belt (1) to crankshaft belt pulley (5) (picture A)



Hold assembly tool (4) in position and turn engine in the direction of the arrow at the center bolt (6) for the crankshaft belt pulley (5) until the poly-V belt (1) can be taken off (picture A)



Remove assembly tool (4) from crankshaft belt pulley (5)



Remove poly-V belt (1) from refrigerant compressor belt pulley (A9), check for damage and replace if necessary



Install

Lay poly-V belt (1) on refrigerant compressor belt pulley (A9)

Position poly-V belt (1) on crankshaft belt pulley (5) and clamp tight using the assembly tool (4) on the crankshaft belt pulley (5) (picture B)



Hold assembly tool (4) in position and turn engine in the direction of the arrow at the center bolt (6) of the crankshaft belt pulley (5) until the poly-V belt (1) is lying correctly on the crankshaft belt pulley (5) (picture B)



Remove assembly tool (4) from crankshaft belt pulley (5)



Lower vehicle with lifting platform

Danger!

Risk of accident caused by vehicle starting off by itself when engine is running. Risk of injury caused by contusions and burns during starting procedure or when working near the engine as it is running

Secure vehicle to prevent it from moving by itself.
Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes.
Do not touch hot or rotating parts.

Perform engine test run and check tension as well as correct seating of the poly-V belt (1)

Raise vehicle with lifting platform

Position cover (3) and install expansion clip (2)

Lower vehicle with lifting platform
