Remove/install

Remove air intake hose downstream of air filter

Remove engine trim panel

On engine 642.992/993

 Installation: Only install engine cover after checking for leaks.

Unscrew bolt from bracket (7) and pull out bracket (7)

Unscrew bolts (10) from tensioning shackle (9) and engine charge air duct (1)



Remove bolts (6, 8) on noise damper (5)



Unscrew bolts (3) from tensioning shackle (2) and engine charge air duct (1)



Unclip vacuum line (4) from cover on left cylinder head cover

Remove noise damper (5) with engine charge air duct (1)

 Clean open connections on charge air system and close.

 Installation: Replace seal rings and coat with antifriction paste.



Install in the reverse order

 Danger!

Risk of accident caused by vehicle starting off by itself when engine is running. Risk of injury caused by contusions and burns during starting procedure or when working near the engine as it is running

Secure vehicle to prevent it from moving by itself.
Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes.
Do not touch hot or rotating parts.

Test run engine and check connection points in area of engine charge air duct (1) and nose damper (5) for leakage
