Remove cylinder head cover trim

On engine 612.965 in model 463.322/323

Separate electrical connector at hot film mass air flow sensor (B2/5)

 Only with engine 612.965 in model 463.322/323

Remove air intake hose (1)

 For model 461.331 remove air intake hose (1) on fender.

Remove charge air intake hose (2)

 Check condition of hose clamp and charge air intake hose (2); replace if necessary.

6 mm socket hexagon on flexible shaft for hose clamps with worm drive

7 mm socket hexagon on flexible shaft for hose clamps with worm drive

Remove air filter upper section (3)

 To do this, unscrew bolts (4).

Remove air filter element (5)

 Inspect condition of air filter element (5), install new part if necessary: 



Replace air filter element

Detach rubber rings (6) at cylinder head cover

 Inspect condition of rubber rings (6), install new parts if necessary.

Loosen water drain hose (10) for bottom part of air filter (7)

 Only with engine 612.966 in model 461.331

 Installation: Check condition of water drain hose (10); replace if necessary.

Detach hose for crankcase ventilation system on oil filler neck

Remove bottom part of air filter (7)

 For this step unscrew bolts (8) observe washers (9) on engine side.

Install in the reverse order
