| Remove/install | ||
| Information on preventing damage to electronic components due to electrostatic discharge | ||
1 | Turn transmitter key in electronic ignition switch (EIS) control unit to position "0"
2 | Remove air intake hose (8)
3 | Disconnect electrical connector (3) at the hot film mass air flow sensor (B2/5)
4 | Release bracket (1) of the hot film MAF sensor (B2/5) on the resonance intake manifold (4) | Release catch hook (1) carefully; the catch hooks (1) can break.
5 | Tip hot film mass air flow sensor (B2/5) at the front upwards, pull and remove to the rear out of the clamp (7) on the air duct housing (5) | Take out hot film mass air flow sensor (B2/5) carefully otherwise there is risk of damaging the grid net (2).
| Checking | ||
6 | Check catch hook (1) and grid net (2) on hot film mass air flow sensor (B2/5) for damage | Replace hot film mass air flow sensor (B2/5) if necessary.
7 | Check seal (6) on air duct housing (5) for wear and damage | Replace air duct housing (5) if necessary. Refer to:
Remove/install air duct housing (5)
8 | Install in the reverse order
9 | Read out fault memory using STAR DIAGNOSIS and erase if necessary.
| Connect STAR DIAGNOSIS and read out fault memory |
