Remove/install

No fire, sparks, open flames or smoking.
Pour fuels only into suitable and appropriately marked containers.

Wear protective clothing when handling fuel.

Remove engine trim panel

Remove gas distributor rail with injection valves

Remove air filter housing

Unscrew bolts (2), unclip retaining clip (3) and place cable duct (4) to one side

Unscrew protective cap (5), screw the pressure hose onto vent valve (6) and release the fuel pressure through vent valve (6)

 Drain fuel into a safety container.

Detach fuel line (7) from fuel distributor (1)

  Seal openings using stop plugs.

Remove bolts (8)

Pull fuel distributor (1) with the fuel injection valves of cylinders 1 to 4 (Y62/27, Y62/28, Y62/29, Y62/30) a little way out of the cylinder head

Disconnect electrical connector (9) from the fuel injection valves of cylinders 1 to 4 (Y62/27, Y62/28, Y62/29, Y62/30)

Remove fuel distributor (1) with the fuel injection valves of cylinders 1 to 4 (Y62/27, Y62/28, Y62/29, Y62/30)

  Seal openings using stop plugs.

 Installation: Clean fuel injection valves on cylinders 1 to 4 (Y62/27, Y62/28, Y62/29, Y62/30) and bores in cylinder head.

Replace seal rings (10) on the fuel injection valves of cylinders 1 to 4 (Y62/27, Y62/28, Y62/29, Y62/30) and lubricate lightly with engine oil for easier assembly.

Install in the reverse order

 Danger!

Risk of accident caused by vehicle starting off by itself when engine is running. Risk of injury caused by contusions and burns during starting procedure or when working near the engine as it is running

Secure vehicle to prevent it from moving by itself.
Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes.
Do not touch hot or rotating parts.
