Align vehicle between vehicle lift columns and position the four support plates at the vehicle lift support points specified by the vehicle manufacturer.

Remove underbody paneling.

Model 910 with code XM1 (Noise abatement measures)

 Installation: Install underfloor paneling only after the leak test.

Remove soot particulate sensor (3).

Note on calculation of tightening torque when using insertion or socket tools with various effective lengths

 Installation: Apply heat-resistant lubricating paste to thread of the soot particulate sensor (3).

 Do not remove soot particulate sensor (3).

 Soot particulate sensor to SCR catalytic converter/rear muffler

Remove temperature sensor (1).

 Do not remove temperature sensor (1).

Remove temperature sensor (2).

 Do not remove temperature sensor (2).

Release screw clamp (4).

 Installation: Replace screw clamp (4).

 Clamp, exhaust pipe to SCR catalytic converter

Remove spring washer (5).

 Installation: Check spring washer (5) for damage.

If necessary,



replace damaged spring washer (5).

Remove SCR catalytic converter (6).

 Press SCR catalytic converter (6) out of the decoupling elements (7) toward the rear.



Check

Check decoupling elements (7) for wear and damage.

If necessary,



replace damaged or worn decoupling elements (7).

Install in the reverse order.



Check

Check installation position and unobstructed movement of the SCR catalytic converter (6).

If the installation position of the SCR catalytic converter (6) is incorrect or unobstructed movement is not OK,



Correct installation position of the SCR catalytic converter (6).

 Warning

Risk of accident from vehicle starting off by itself when engine running. Risk of injury (bruises and burns) resulting from working on the engine while it is being started or when it is running.

Secure vehicle to prevent it from starting off by itself. Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes. Do not touch hot or rotating parts.
