| Notes on tool combinations for repairs on the brake caliper | ||
| Remove | ||
1 | Remove brake linings | ||
2 | Unscrew threaded pipe (1) by adjusting brake adjuster far enough from brake caliper until boots (4) are accessible | ||
3 | Remove thrust pieces (5) and boots (4) | ||
4 | Remove bushings (3) from threaded pipes (1) | ||
5 | Check adjusting thread of threaded pipes (1) for corrosion | With water ingress or corrosion | |

Replace brake calipers. | |||
6 | Screw in threaded pipes (1) all the way into brake caliper by adjusting brake adjuster | ||
7 | Clean areas around the inner sealings (6) | ||
8 | Pry out inner sealings (6) using a screwdriver | Do not damage the seats (2). | |
9 | Clean and check seats (2) | If the seat (2) is damaged | |

Replace brake calipers. | |||
| Install | ||
10 | Mount and install new inner sealings (6) onto threaded pipes (1) | ||
11 | Unscrew threaded pipes (1) approx. 5 threads out of brake caliper by adjusting brake adjuster | ||
12 | Grease threads of threaded pipes (1) | Installation grease (white) part number: II 14525 | |
13 | Screw in threaded pipes (1) all the way into brake caliper by adjusting brake adjuster and install dust cap | ||
Installation grease (white) part number: II 14525 | |||
14 | Mount new bushings (3) on threaded pipes (1) | ||
15 | Install new thrust pieces (5) and boots (4) | ||
16 | If necessary, remove new brake lining from outer brake lining recess again | ||
17 | Install brake lining |
