1 | Remove front axle shaft (1) | ||
2 | Clamp front axle shaft (1) horizontally into vise | Use protective jaws when clamping in. | |
3 | Cut open clamps (2, 4) and remove | ||
4 | Cut open and detach rubber boot (3) | ||
5 | Remove cover (6) from constant velocity joint (5) | ||
6 | Remove retaining ring (7) from front axle shaft (1) | ||
7 | Remove constant velocity joint (5) from front axle shaft (1) | If it is stiff, press off constant velocity joint (5) with a suitable drift using a press. | |

8 | Remove grease and clean constant velocity joint (5) | ||
| Check | ||
9 | Check constant velocity joint (5) for wear and damage | Replace front axle shaft (1), if necessary. | |
| Install | ||
10 | Slide clamp (2) onto front axle shaft (1) | Use new clamp (2). | |
11 | Slide new sealing bellows (3) onto front axle shaft (1) | ||
12 | Slide clamp (4) onto rubber boot (3) | Use new clamp (4). | |
13 | Install constant velocity joint (5) onto front axle shaft (1) | ||
14 | Install retaining ring (7) onto front axle shaft (1) | Use new retaining ring (7). | |
15 | Fill rubber boot (3) and constant velocity joint (5) with grease | Use grease from repair kit. | |
16 | Slide rubber boot (3) onto constant velocity joint (5), align and fasten with clamps (2, 4) | Axle boot clamping pliers | |
17 | Install cover (6) on constant velocity joint (5) | The perforated ring on the cover (6) must line up with the perforated ring on the constant velocity joint (5). | |
18 | Remove front axle shaft (1) from vise | ||
19 | Install front axle shaft (1) |
