Remove/install engine charge air duct upstream of charge air cooler

Remove/install

Lift/jack up vehicle

Remove charge air hose (8) on engine charge air duct (1)

 The connector for the engine charge air duct (1) is designed as a Henn coupling.
Close connections with protective hoods

 Installation: Replace sealing ring.



Lower vehicle

Remove air filter housing

Remove windshield fluid reservoir windshield washer system and hand up to side

 Do not detach lines connected

Remove electrical line (7) from engine charge air duct (1)

Unscrew bolt (3) and remove bracket (5)

Remove bolts (2, 6, 9)

 Installation: Screw on bolts (2, 6, 9) finger-tight, then tighten.



Detach engine charge air duct (1) from noise damper (4) downwards and take out

 Installation: Replace sealing ring on noise damper (4). Install new cable tie for electrical line (7) before installing engine charge air duct (1).

Install in the reverse order

 Danger!

Risk of accident caused by vehicle starting off by itself when engine is running. Risk of injury caused by contusions and burns during starting procedure or when working near the engine as it is running

Secure vehicle to prevent it from moving by itself.
Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes.
Do not touch hot or rotating parts.

Carry out an engine test run and check the engine around the engine charge air duct (1) for leaktightness
