42 - 0850 Removal and installation of wheel speed sensors on front axle

Removal, installation
1 Switch off ignition.
2 Disconnect electrical plug connection in engine compartment.

3 Pull connection cable through inner part of wheelhouse and completely expose.

4 Remove wheel speed sensor from locator bore in steering knuckle.
Note
Each time a wheel speed sensor is dismantled, replace clamping bush and install using acid-free grease (Molykote 44 Light silicone grease).
Installation note
Push wheel speed sensor in as far as the stop in locator bore. Clearance adjusts itself automatically once the vehicle is driven.
Route connection cable without chafing and tie up properly.
Perform function check.
