Removal
-------------------------------
1 Remove driver's seat.
2 Disconnect battery.
Note
Disconnect negative pole first.
3 Remove retaining clip (9) and unhook shifting rod (8).
4 Disconnect electrical connector.
5 Disconnect contact housing (4) and mark position of terminals in relation to plug (arrow).
6 Screw off hex. nuts (5) together with washers.
7 Press cable grommet (3) out toward outside.
8 Screw off gearshift lever mounting block (1) and pull cable through hole.
9 Remove gasket (7).
Installation

1 Install gasket (7).
Note
Check gasket for cracks and replace, if required.
2 Install gearshift lever mounting block (1). Thread electrical cable through hole and install cable grommet (3).
Note
When attaching the gearshift lever with mounting block assure that the gasket is not pushed out of the frame.
Check gasket seat from below vehicle.
3 Screw down gearshift lever mounting block.
4 Install terminals in plug housing (4) and plug electrical connectors together.
Note
Observe markings (arrow).
5 Adjust gearshift lever linkage (27-1281).
6 Hook in shifting rod (8) and secure with retainer (9).
7 Install driver's seat.
8 Reconnect battery.
