Location
The AdBlue® injection nozzle (7) is located in the flanged manifold.
7 | AdBlue® injection nozzle |
8 | AdBlue® metering device |
W14.40-1246-06
Task
The AdBlue® injection nozzle (7) injects the AdBlue® coming from the AdBlue® metering device (8) evenly into the exhaust flow.
Structure
The AdBlue® injection nozzle (7) is made of aluminum. It is fitted with a flange, with which it is bolted onto the flanged manifold from the outside. The nozzle tip points in the flow direction of the exhaust flow. The outlet bore of the nozzle tip has a diameter of 1.5 mm.
Function
The AdBlue® coming from the AdBlue® metering device (8) flows through the AdBlue® injection nozzle (7) and is injected straight into the hot exhaust air flow in the flanged manifold by its nozzle head. The AdBlue® requires a certain amount of time in the exhaust flow to complete the chemical conversion of AdBlue® to ammonia (NH3). This is why the AdBlue® injection nozzle (7) is installed at a precisely defined distance upstream of the SCR catalytic converter.
