Task
Via the AdBlue® heater coolant solenoid valve, coolant is diverted off from the engine coolant circuit to heat the AdBlue® line circuit, AdBlue® tank and AdBlue® pump module.

The AdBlue® heater coolant solenoid valve (Y107) is a 2/2-way valve with two line fittings for coolant lines. Inside the valve, the valve body is designed as a solenoid armature.
Function
The AdBlue® heater coolant solenoid valve is actuated by the motor control module (MR) (A6). Via the AdBlue® fill level sensor/temperature sensor (B117), the motor control module (MR) detects whether the temperature of the AdBlue® is approaching the limit value of 8 °C.
If the coolant reaches a temperature above 65 °C and the AdBlue® temperature reaches the limit value, the AdBlue® heater coolant solenoid valve is actuated by the motor control module (MR). The valve then opens and coolant is branched off from the engine's coolant circuit.
In the case of a non-opened AdBlue® heater coolant solenoid valve, the coolant is present at the closed valve body inside the component. This valve body keeps the passage between the coolant supply line and the coolant working line closed by the force of a compression spring.
When current is applied, the valve body moves and the opening is opened so that coolant can flow through. Once the current supply to the AdBlue® heater coolant solenoid valve is interrupted, the spring presses the valve body back into its starting position. This means that the passage is blocked off again.
