Operation
The stroke limiting valves (1a, 1b) displace themselves in the housing along the piston (12) in the longitudinal direction.
The actuation pins of the valves project themselves out at right and at left of the piston
The actuation pin of the bottom valve (1a) is actuated when stopping against the plug arranged in the bottom of the case when the piston displaces itself to the bottom chamber (A) and, the actuation pin of the top valve (1b) is actuated when stopping against the valve case when the piston displaces itself to the top chamber (B).
The valves (1a, 1b) remain closed until one of the actuation pins reaches the stop.
When the piston (12) moves itself, for example, to the top chamber (B), the top valve (1b) also displaces itself until being actuated when stopping against the valve case, before the piston reaches the end of its stroke. In this process, the valve (1b) opens and the bottom and top chambers remain connected diminishing thus the pressure of the system.
The reverse process occurs when the piston (12) moves toward the bottom chamber (A).
When the limiting valve opens, the steering can still be turned up to the wheel turning stop, however, with greater effort.
