Brake application
At brake pedal actuation, compressed air flows to the combination or membrane cylinder and its rod actuates on the lever (6).
The force transmission (F1) passes to the bridge (5) through the off-center positioned roller on the lever (6). The tightening force (F2) actuates on the inner brake pad (4) through the pressure parts (9).
After passing the clearance between the brake pad (4) and disc (3), the reaction force (F2) is transmitted to the outer brake pad (2) through the brake caliper (1), which results in the braking pressure.
Brake release
When the brake pressure is relieved, the pressure springs (8) pull the bridge (5), the pressure parts (9) and the lever (6) to the initial position.
