Accessories of the test bench D = Pressure reducing valve FN1; FN2= Pressure regulating valve (with discharge to the atmosphere) V = Workbench supply circuit gage 1; 2; 3; 4 = Pressure gauges for test circuits with divisions at 0.10 bar and capacity up to 16 bar 20L = Air reservoir with 20 liter capacity 3; 4; C; V = Faucet (taps) (1); (2); (3); (4) = Fast coupling connections on the test bench
2
Visual check Check the valve for external damages.

Connect the valve in test bench Install the actuation and measuring device, install the valve on the workbench following the corresponding diagram and connect: Fast coupling (1) of the test bench to the connection 11 Fast coupling (2) of the test bench to the connection 12 Fast coupling (3) of the test bench to the connection 21 Fast coupling (4) of the test bench to the connection 22 Warning: The brake valve is actuated turning the crank of the device Close faucets C; 3; 4; e V at test bench. Actuate the reduction valve D and apply 10 bar on the test bench supply circuit. Observe the applied pressure on gage V. The other gages must not indicate pressure at all. Apply 8 bar pressure to circuits 11 and 12 by means of the regulating valves FN1 and FN2.observe the pressure applied on pressure gauges 1 and 2, respectively. If the valve has been disassembled, operate totally from 10 to 15 times to ensure a good seating of its components.

Test the tightness Apply 8 bar pressure to circuits 11 and 12 by means of the regulating valves FN1 and FN2.observe the pressure applied on pressure gauges 1 and 2. Actuate the valve simulating a partial braking and a total braking. The gages 3 and 4 will have to indicate pressure. Check the valve tightness applying neutral soap foam on the discharge 3 and around the valve. Warning: If some leaks is detected, disassemble the valve and replace the damaged components.
5
Test the operation Apply 8 bar pressure to supply circuits 11 and 12 by means of the regulating valves FN1 and FN2.observe the pressure applied on pressure gauges 1 and 2. Check the pressure of the valve in function of the actuation stroke: a - Actuate the valve up to the rod (27) (of the exploded view) displacing itself 6 mm. - The gage 3 will have to indicate a pressure of 2.9 bar in the circuit 21. - The gage 4 will have to indicate the pressure of 2.6 bar in the circuit 22, proving the pressure anticipation in the circuit 21 in relation to the circuit 22. b - Turn the valve until the rod (27) reaches 10 mm. - The pressure gauge 3 should indicate the pressure of 8 bar in the circuit 21. - The pressure gauge 4 should indicate the pressure of 7.7 bar in the circuit 22. c - Turn the valve fully and measure the stroke of the rod (27) which must not measured less than 15 . The pressure in the circuits 21 and 22 on the gages 3 and 4 will have to be 8 bar. Notes: I - The valves described here have no adjustment. II - The pressure grading steps of the valves in the tests (if the are correctly assembled, lubricated and run-in) must not exceed 0.3 bar.

Simulation of faults in one of the circuits
Simulation of fault in the circuit 11: Apply 8 bar pressure to circuits 11 and 12 by means of the regulating valves FN1 and FN2.observe the pressure applied on pressure gauges 1 and 2. Turn the valve fully until the end of the stroke The gages 3 and 4 will have to indicate 8 bar. Disengage the valve FN1 and fully depressurize the circuit 11.. The pressure gauges 1 and 3 of circuits 11 and 21 must indicate "zero" bar and pressure gauge 4 of circuit 22 must indicate 8 bar. Thus, in this situation, we will have the circuits 11 and 21 inoperative because of simulated defect and the circuits 12 and 22 operating normally. Simulation of fault in the circuit 12: Apply 8 bar pressure to circuits 11 and 12 by means of the regulating valves FN1 and FN2.observe the pressure applied on pressure gauges 1 and 2. Actuate the valve totally to the end of the stroke. The gages 3 and 4 will have to indicate 8 bar. Disengage the valve FN2 and fully depressurize the circuit 12. The gages 2 and 4 of the circuits 12 and 22 will have to indicate “zero” bar and, the gage 3 of the circuit 21 will have to indicate 8 bar. Thus, in this situation, we will have the circuits 12 and 22 inoperative because of simulated defect and the circuits 11 and 21 operating normally.

Remove the valve from the test bench De-pressurize the valve circuits and disconnect the test hoses. Remove the stroke measuring device and remove the valve from the test bench. Plug the valve ports with appropriate plastic plugs.
