Disassemble/assemble

Loosen wheel nuts (114).

 Jack up the wheels and support the axle by tripod stand.

 Installation: Adjust lining to drum clearance as per procedure.

 Rear wheel nut tighten

Remove the wheel and brake drum (115).

Remove the dust shields (116) by loosening the bolts (86).

 Installation:
Rotate slack adjuster to 60° by hand and release the slack adjuster.
To ensure proper shoe return and seating of all components.

 Installation: Check for proper fitment of all the components.

 Dust shield tighten

Remove the front side abutment end spring (117) using a spring puller.

Remove stiffener plate from the abutment side.

 Stiffener plate tighten

Remove another abutment end spring (117) using a spring puller.

Remove shoe (118) from torque plate (119) along with cam end spring and roller.

 Installation: Take care of the spring stem position it must be fitted as shown in the picture.

Remove cam end spring (120) from the shoe (118).

Remove split pin (121) from the shoe and detach the roller (122) from the shoe along with plate (Roller hold).

Remove fulcrum pins (123) from the torque plate abutment end spring (117).

 Installation: Apply recommended grease.

Check axial play of the cam shaft (124) (Axial play service limit - 1.3 mm).

 Installation: Check for the axial play of cam shaft (124) (Axial play working limit - 0.3 mm to 0.8 mm).

Check radial play of the cam shaft (124) (radial play service limit - 1 mm).

 Installation: Check for the radial play of cam shaft (124) (radial play working limit within - 0.76 mm).

Remove circlip (125) from "S" cam shaft (124).

Remove the washer (126) and shims.

Remove slack adjuster (127).

Remove sleeve delrin (128).

Remove S-camshaft from torque plate (119).

Remove the chamber bracket (129) by loosening the mounting bolts (88).

 Chamber bracket bolts tighten

Remove oil seal from torque plate.

Remove the cam end bush (130) from torque plate (119) using a mandrel.

Remove abutment bushes (131) from the torque plate (119) using a mandrel.

Remove grease nipple (132) and relief valve from the chamber bracket (129).

Remove the oil seals (133) from the plumber block.

24

Remove the bush (134) from the chamber bracket (129) using a mandrel.

25

Assemble in the reverse order.
