1 | Remove the automatic regulator | ||
2 | Lift-off the retractile plug (7) | ||
3 | With the help of a screwdriver release the plug of the housing (1) | ||
4 | Remove the plug (1) and pull the assembly of the actuator (6) | ||
5 | Use a small screwdriver to remove the elastic ring (3) | ||
6 | Remove the elastic pin (4) | ||
7 | Use a small screwdriver to remove the grease seal (10) | ||
8 | Use pliers for elastic ring to remove the ring from the housing (9) | 08 x 09 mm Open end wrench | |
9 | Turn the manual adjusting nut to pull the end-less pinion (8) | ||
10 | Lift off the gear (14) and the seal (15) utilizing an adequate punch | ||
11 | Remove the sealing ring (13) from the gear (14) | ||
12 | Wash all metal parts with solvent and with soap all non metal parts | Inspect all parts and replace those presenting signs of wear and damage. | |

13 | Assemble in reverse order | After assembling the gear with its sealing ring, install the seal utilizing an adequate punch. | |
Lubricate through the zerk fitting. Stop lubricating when fresh grease comes out the plug valve or the gear. Excess grease may compromise the operation of the regulator. | |||
Never lubricate the automatic regulators with the brakes applied (service or parking brake). | |||

14 | Turn the manual adjustment nut anti-clockwise using a dynamo-metric wrench | If the read-off torque is greater than 3.45 Nm it is because the regulator is not operating correctly. | |
22 turns on the manual adjusting nut is equivalent to a complete turn of the gear. |
