Install the inner nut while simultaneously turning the wheel hub.

Apply a few strikes on the wheel hub with a bronze hammer.

Tighten the inner slotted nut with the claw wrench to the specified tightening torque and then, loosen it in the specified angle.Rear axles 743.3

Install a new lock plate

Install and tighten the outer nut with the claw wrench to the specified tightening torque.

Adjust wheel bearing play on rear wheel hub

Install the dial indicator holder and the dial indicator.

Check the axial clearance moving the wheel hub in and out. . 


If the end play is out of the specified values

Adjust by tightening or loosening the outer slotted nut.

Confirm the end play again


If the end play is correct

Fold the edges of the lock plate over the two slotted nuts, inner and outer.
