Both the kingpin and the rod handles, as well as the needle roller bearings, must be perfectly clean and dry, without any oily substance.
Install the kingpin on the axles VL 2/27 DC-3,2
Execution with a manual hydraulic press.
1 Install the steering knuckles (2) on the axle rod handle and assemble the bottom plate of the hydraulic press (1) in the steering knuckles by locking it with 4 screws.

2 Assemble the upper plate of the hydraulic press (4) without tightening it.
3 Centralize the holes of the steering knuckle and of the rod handle with the mandrel.
4 Press the upper plate and remove the mandrel.
5 Install the kingpin and assemble the hydraulic press (3) in the bottom plate.
6 Press the kingpin using the hydraulic press.
The force required to press the kingpin is, approximately, 100 kN.
7 Remove the hydraulic press.

Install the kingpin on the axles VL 2/28 DC-2,5
Execution with a manual hydraulic press .
1 Install the bottom plate of the steering knuckle adapter, locking it with 4 screws.

2 Install the upper plate of the adapter.
3 Centralize the holes of the steering knuckle and of the rod handle with the mandrel.
4 Press the upper plate and remove the mandrel.
5 Install the kingpin and assemble the hydraulic press in the bottom plate.
6 Press the kingpin using the hydraulic press.
7 Remove the hydraulic press and the adapter.
