Danger

Risk of death from lowering vehicle when working between wheels and body. Risk of injury from pinching or crushing when working on the air suspension.

Testing and repair work between the wheel and wheel arch or in the wheel well should only be performed if the vehicle is secured using suitable support fixtures to prevent it from lowering.
Adjustment operations should only be performed from underneath the vehicle.
Use only suitable support fixtures to secure the vehicle frame or vehicle axles in order to prevent them from lowering.
If necessary, additionally use suitable support fixtures in order to prevent other moving vehicle parts that are in the working area from lowering, or use suitable retaining devices to prevent these parts from moving suddenly and without warning.
Secure areas with moving vehicle parts against unauthorized access.

Check

1

Put the vehicle in a flat and leveled place, if possible on a proper ditch

Apply parking brake and chock the wheels to prevent that the vehicle moves accidentally.

2

Pressurize the air bellows to the normal working pressure of the vehicle

3

Calibrate all vehicle tires

AP40.15-B-4060A

4

Measure the distance (H1) on front axle

On vehicles with two front axles, the measurement (H1) is the same for both axles.

.Normal adjustment height H1 of the front pneumatic suspension with conventional system (Bosch valves)

*BE32.22-B-1004-01A

5

Measure the distance (H2) on rear driven axle

On vehicles 634.0, it is not necessary to measure the height of the rear trailing axle.

On vehicles with trailing axle, the adjustment occurs automatically by means of the height (H2) of the drive axle.

.Adjustment of the rear pneumatic suspension with conventional system (Bosch valve)

*BE32.22-B-1006-02A

Adjust

6

Adjust the height on front axle (H1)

Spacer block for vehicle level adjustment

WF58.50-B-3222-01A

Check the measurement values between the front axle and the lower surface of the longitudinal member on both vehicle sides.

7

Loosen the nuts of the valve train rods of the level regulation valve, and adjust the rod length until you reach the specified height

.Normal adjustment height H1 of the front pneumatic suspension with conventional system (Bosch valves)

*BE32.22-B-1004-01A

8

Tighten the nuts of the rod

If necessary, lubricate the ball joints of the rods articulation with the specified grease.

Grease, DB supply specification 6804 - Class 267.0

9

Adjust the height (H2) on rear drive axle

Spacer block for vehicle level adjustment

WF58.50-B-3222-01A

Check the measurement values between the rear axle clamp and the lower surface of the longitudinal member on both side of the vehicle.

10

Loosen the nuts of the valve train rods of the level control valve, and adjust the rods length until you reach the specified height

.Adjustment of the rear pneumatic suspension with conventional system (Bosch valve)

*BE32.22-B-1006-02A

11

Tighten the nuts of the rods

If necessary, lubricate the ball joints of the rods articulation with the specified grease.

12

Carry out a test route

Pass through routes with uneven surfaces.

13

Check again the vehicle leveling

If the measurement value on vehicle is different from the specified height:

Check and replace the worn/damaged components of level regulation, and repeat the previous steps.

14

Apply chemical seal in the locking nuts of the rods
