1 | Remove transmission | ||
2 | Remove pressure plate (2) and take off together with clutch plate (1). | To prevent excessive one-sided loads on the pressure plate, unscrew the bolts (4) by loosening them in a cross-pattern and in small increments only. Note the installation orientation of the clutch plate. | |

3 | Check friction surfaces of pressure plate (2) and clutch plate (1). | If the friction surfaces are scorched, scored or cracked: | |

4 | Check friction surface on flywheel | If the friction surfaces are scorched, scored or cracked: | |

5 | Inspect and grease guide bearing in flywheel | If wear is found: | |
Install new guide bearing. | |||
6 | Check central clutch operator (5) | If wear is found: | |
Install new central clutch release bearing | |||
7 | Grease grooves of clutch plate (1) slightly and check movability of clutch plate (1) on hub profile of input shaft | The clutch plate should slide easily over the hub profile of the input shaft, but should also not exhibit excessive play. | |

8 | Grease guide for central clutch release bearing (5) at transmission. | ||
9 | Center clutch plate (1) at flywheel using centering drift (6). | | |
10 | Install pressure plate (2). | | |
Tighten bolts crosswise in small increments. It must still be possible to move the centering drift (6) slightly after tightening the bolts. Difficulties occur when installing transmission or when shifting if clutch plate (1) is jammed or installed off-center. | |||
