Clean the valves, remove any residues of carbonized oil.

Check the possibility to use or reuse (in the event of used valves), checking the recommended values.
Burned valves or valves showing wear in the grooves of the keyways, damage to the chrome layer of the stem, deformation and wear beyond the allowable limit must be replaced, except for the valve seat face and the top of its stem (contact w/ the rocker), which can be reworked, provided the dimensions are kept within the control values.
Do not rework the seat face of the intake valve of the OM 457LA engines,
Otherwise the engine may be damaged.
