Mount  the dial indicator (5) on the  dial indicator holder (4)

Position the dial gauge (5) with some previous tension on the flat face of the cylinder head (1).

 On a cylinder head (1) with inductance thermal treatment the dial gauge holder (4) with the dial gauge (5) must be on the flat surfaces between the inductance treatment points.

Set the dial gauge (5) to "0".

Displace  the dial indicator (5) with the dial indicator holder (4) until the probe pin rests on the intake valve disk (2) or the exhaust valve (3).

 Measure the valve recess (B) on both valves, intake (2) and exhaust valve (3). On each measuring set the dial gauge (5) to "0".

Read the value on the dial gauge scale (5) and take note.

 The valve recess (B) must be within the permissible tolerance field on the pair of intake valves (2) or on the pair of exhaust valves (3).
