Connect the diagnostic equipment

Turn on the ignition of the vehicle.

If any message is shown in the steps next:

Select "F2" to continue the procedure.

Start the program "XENTRY Diagnostics"

Select the brand "Mercedes-Benz".

Select the option "Bus"

Next, choose the vehicle family.

Select "All Types"

Click in continue.

Select all in "Engines an Gearboxes"

Click in continue.

Select "stethoscope"

Select "Quick Test"

Advance with "F3".

A question regarding the download of texts for instrument cluster updating will be shown. Advance with F4 and select the option "No".

The result of the "Quick Test" is presented in " MR Engine Control". Pay attention to the indication "F - Active Failure" in the "MR Engine Control" unit.

Select "MR Engine Control"

Advance with "F3".

Select "Current failure code"

The failure code "16995" will be presented. This code indicates that the system is "switched off".

Advance with "F3".

Select the failure code "16995"

Advance with "F3".

A question regarding the "SCR activation" is shown. Advance with "F3".

Switch the ignition on and off

The message "SCR system activated" is presented. Advance with "F2". (the failure "16995" must be shown scratched).

Activate the module

Return to "MR Engine Control" unit

Return by selecting "F1",

Select "Control Unit Adaptation"

Advance with "F3".

Select "Putting into operation for Euro 4 / 5

Advance with "F3".

In this moment, an automatic routine of "10 steps" starts to put the system in operation.

Finish the activation procedure

Wait an execution of about 9 minutes between the steps 1 and 10, switch the ignition off and on when requested, and finish the procedure by selecting "F2".

The routine will be interrupted if one or more failures is found. In these cases, after correcting the indicated failures, the procedures must be re-started.

If the correction of one or more failures depend on the re-parameterization of one or more electronic units:

Consult the "ProParts" manual.
