Work in well ventilated rooms only. Wear safety glasses with side protection and protective gloves.

Disconnect ground line of battery



Remove soundproofing at right under the engine

Expose electrical line (1) and disconnect from alternator (G2)

Shorten electrical line (1) by approx. 160 mm

5

Strip electrical line (1) to approx. 15 mm

Use crimping tool to attach new cable lug (3) to the electrical line (1)


Do not attach cable lug (3) through a solder connection.
Damage can occur to the electrical line (1) otherwise.

 Align cable lug (3) to the mounting point (arrow) before crimping. Use crimping tool for copper lines with 16 mm2 cross section.

Attach heat-shrinkable tube (2) to the electrical line (1)

 Shorten heat-shrinkable tube (2) to approx. 30 mm.

Connect electrical line (1) to the new mounting point (arrow) on the alternator (G2)

 Bolt, ground line to alternator

Fasten electrical line (4) with two cable ties (6) on the alternator (G2)


The electrical line (4) must lie firmly on the alternator (G2).
Damage can occur to the electrical line (4) otherwise.

Position screw/bolt (5) and tensioning strap (7) onto alternator (G2) at top


Only install tensioning strap (7) as shown in the picture.
Damage can occur to the electrical line (4) otherwise.

 Do not tighten the screw/bolt (5) yet.

Position screw/bolt (8) with tensioning strap (7) onto alternator (G2) at left

 Do not tighten the screw/bolt (8) yet.

Position screw/bolt (9) with tensioning strap (7) onto alternator (G2) at right

 Do not tighten the screw/bolt (9) yet.

Tighten screws/bolts (5, 8, 9) uniformly

 The tensioning strap (7) must lie firmly up against the electrical line (4).

 Bolt, tensioning strap to alternator

Install soundproofing under the engine at the right
