Fuel temperature sensor task

Signalling to the CDI control module (A53) the fuel temperature which exists in the return flow line directly downstream of the rail pressure control valve (Y74).

Fuel temperature sensor design

The fuel temperature sensor (B30) consists of an NTC resistor.

Fuel temperature sensor function

The NTC resistor integrated in the fuel temperature sensor (B30) alters its electrical resistance in line with the fuel temperature.

NTC means negative temperature coefficient, in other words the electrical resistance becomes less as the temperature rises.
