Remove/install

Switch off ignition and store transmitter key outside of transmission range (min. 2  m)

Disconnect battery ground line

Remove headliner

Remove styrofoam block (3)

Remove bolt (4)

 Screw, windowbag to D-pillar

Unscrew bolts (5)

 Bolt, windowbag to body

Unscrew nuts (6)

 Nut, gas generator for windowbag to A-pillar

Using the mounting wedge, carefully detach windowbag unit (1) from the inner roof frame

Remove windowbag unit (1) and move to rear with aid of an assistant

Release and disconnect electrical connection (7) from left windowbag squib (R12/16) or right windowbag squib (R12/17)

Remove windowbag unit (1)

Install in the reverse order



Check

Check and erase vehicle fault memory using diagnostic system

When replacing windowbag unit (1).


