Remove front lower engine compartment paneling

Loosen screw/bolt (14)

 Loosen bolt (14) for securing belt pulley (13) to refrigerant compressor before removal of the poly-V-belt but do not remove it.

Remove poly-V-belt

Remove screw/bolt (14)

Push rubber damper (15) out of belt pulley (13) by turning in puller screw (16) and remove

 If the puller screw (16) is not included in the parts kit for the belt pulley, a bolt M8x30 can be used.

Remove retaining ring (17) of belt pulley (13)

 Push retaining ring (17) using suitable tool out of groove so that the openings on the retaining ring (17) are accessible for the retaining ring pliers. The retaining ring (17) is not in the immediately visible area. Use a mirror to help during the removal process.

Remove belt pulley (13)


Do not apply pull in an axial direction on the refrigerant compressor shaft (18).
Otherwise the refrigerant compressor may be damaged.



Check

Check sealing ring of the refrigerant compressor shaft (18) for leaks

If the sealing ring is leaky



Replace refrigerant compressor.

Check belt pulley (13)

 Compare belt pulley (13) from parts kit with removed belt pulley (13) before installation. The number of grooves and the diameter must be identical.



Install

Fit belt pulley (13) onto refrigerant compressor shaft (18)

Install retaining ring (17)

 Install retaining ring (17) with flat side facing refrigerant compressor. Check retaining ring (17) is seated correctly using mirror.

Install rubber damper (15)

 Coat rubber damper (15) with soapy water before installation.

 Ensure correct installation position: Rubber damper (15) must be positioned with larger pitch facing towards belt pulley (13) groove (arrows).

Screw in bolt (14)

 Tighten screw/bolt (14) for securing belt pulley (13) to refrigerant compressor only after installing the poly-V-belt.
