1 Open liftgate.
2 Loosen bolts (1) on lock striker.
3 Loosen bolts (2) on side guides.
4 Detach counternut from stops (3)

5 Loosen bolts (4) on liftgate.
6 Remove gas-filled strut from liftgate.
Use aid of helper.
7 Adjust gap dimensions between liftgate and lower bumper (Z) and liftgate and upper taillamp (W).
Observe transitions between body and liftgate.
8 Tighten bolts (4) on liftgate finger-tight.
9 Loosen bolts (5) on body.

10 Adjust gap dimensions between liftgate and roof (V) and (W) and liftgate and upper taillamp.
Observe transitions between body and liftgate.
11 Tighten bolts (5) on body finger-tight.

12 Check gap dimensions between liftgate and roof (V), liftgate and upper taillamp (W), liftgate and lower taillamp (X), liftgate and side bumper (Y), liftgate and lower bumper (Z) and transitions between body and liftgate, adjust if necessary.
13 Tighten bolts (1) on lock striker .
14 Tighten bolts (2) on side guides .
15 Tighten bolts (4, 5).
16 Unscrew end stops (3) and adjust in relation to liftgate.
17 Tighten jam nut on end stops (3).
18 Install gas-filled strut on liftgate.
Use aid of helper.
19 Check whether liftgate opens and closes correctly and check for easy motion, repeat adjustment if necessary
