Remove/install upper paneling on B-pillar

Risk of injury caused by performing testing or repair work on airbag or emergency tensioning retractor units.

Store airbag units with deployment side facing up; do not expose to temperatures greater than 100 °C. When working on these units, disconnect the power supply.

1 Remove wardrobe hook (3) on left paneling (1).

Only on model 639.6 with code (VA6) Full side wall paneling and without code (T19) Left sliding door, on model 639.6 with code (V23) Interior trim of superior quality and without code (T19) Left sliding door, on model 639.7/8, 636 without code (T19) Left sliding door.

The mounting screw is located below the cover (2).

2 Remove lower curtain rail on left paneling (1).

Only on model 639.71 with code (VB2) Sightproofing all-round, buttonable (Westfalia) and without code (T19) Left sliding door, model 639.813 with code (ZK7) "Marco Polo" camper.

For this purpose remove stopper, move curtain and unscrew bolt.

3 Remove cover (4) from seat belt guide bracket (5).

4 Remove bolt (6) .

5 Remove paneling (1) with long wedge at bottom.

6 Disconnect electrical connector from push button on electric sliding door.

Only with code (T55) Electrical actuation for right sliding door, with code (T56) Electrical actuation for left sliding door.

7 Remove paneling (1) downward.

Installation: Check mounting clamps, replace if necessary.

8 Install in the reverse order.

9 Check belt height actuation and seat belt for proper function and easy motion.
