Installation instructions
Infrared interior protection/
anti-tow-away protection (code 882) 82.5
Model 140 (with EDW already installed)
The interior protection/anti-tow-away protection is an extension of the existing EDW providing additional protection against theft, e.g. break-ins via the side windows or change in level or wheel theft.
P82-7331-57
The installation described in the following is required in full for vehicles up to 01/94. The anti-tow-away protection wiring harnesses and interior protection/EDW switch are already pre-equipped on vehicles as of 01/94 with recognized standard production immobilizer. Only the anti-tow-away control unit and anti-tow-away protection/status indicator switch have to be fitted. The anti-theft warning (EDW) control unit does not have to be replaced. The cable bridge (black cable) connector on the interior central locking system control switch must be disconnected. The work described in B and C is not required on the pre-equipped vehicles.
Vehicles as of approx. 12/94 have a programmable EDW control unit which has to be programmed by means of the hand-held tester when the anti-tow-away protection is retrofitted.
For programming, refer to Diagnosis Manual Body 13.2. 31
Otherwise installation is as on vehicles as of 01/94.
