The seats of the new GLE class model 167 fulfill the highest expectations with regard to comfort, safety and, material selection. To satisfy these expectations, the seats have once again been significantly upgraded compared to the preceding series. In particular, the following should be mentioned:
Numerous innovations, which increase seat comfort, seat climate comfort, and safety further.
SUV-characteristic seat design through form, material, color scheme, and additional seam construction for Nappa package.
Larger number of rear seat variants with a large range of functionalities.
The 3rd seat row special equipment with code 847 is new.

Front seats
Seat adjustment
The front seats can be adjusted in terms of length, height and incline of the seat cushion as well as incline of the backrest as standard.
The fully electric seat adjustment with memory can be selected as special equipment. The special equipment with code 254 (electrically adjustable front seat cushion length) is new. It provides electrical seat cushion length adjustment, which provides an adjustment range of 60 mm as a one-piece cushion without a gap. The 4-way lumbar support and the electrical head restraint adjustment are also part of the package.
Seat heater
The quick 2-zone seat heating is new. Compared to the standard seat heating, it enables in quicker heating up of the cushion and backrest. The fast seat heater (seat heating Plus) is offered in combination with the special equipment package with code P68 (Warmth Comfort Package) and Code 399 (front multicontour seats with massage function).
Rear seats
By extending the wheelbase, it was possible to improve the legroom in the rear passenger compartment significantly.
The rear bench seat of the 2nd seat row offers rear seat passengers a high level of comfort through the use of 2-zone foaming. The high level of seat comfort with good backrest side bolsters is a particular advantage for driving off-road and for long journeys.
The rear bench seat is available in a high-lock and in a low lock variant:
High lock: Stationary rear bench seat with 100 % continuous bank and 40/20/40 % backrest division, – folding
Low lock: All-electrically adjustable 2nd seat row/rear bench seat with 60/40 % cushion and 100 mm longitudinal adjustment and backrest division ratio 40/20/40 % as well as backrest angle adjustment.
The 3rd seat row with two additional seats is new in the GLE class model 167. It is available as special equipment with code 847 (3rd seat row). Thanks to the adjustabiliy of the length of the 2nd seat row, the footwell in the 3rd seat row can be adjusted.
To enable better embarkment/disembarkement for the rear passengers in the 3rd seat row, the EASY-ENTRY function is available. The outer seat backrest of the 2nd seat row is folded toward the front by operating the EASY-ENTRY function (on the seat backrest) and seat is electrically moved toward the front. As a result, the entrance is enlarged.
