Check gap dimension of trunk lid trim strip

Using a strip of paper

Check (picture 1).

If no gap is present between the trunk lid and trim strip, proceed with operation step 2. If a gap is present between the trunk lid and trim strip, end measure.

Remove/install

Remove trunk lid handle

Remove trim strip

Using assembly wedge.

Clean bonding surfaces

With silicone cleaner.

One roll of adhesive tape is to be used for approx 250 vehicles.

Position new trim strip

To do this, clip trim strip into trunk lid and align.

Remove protective foil

On adhesive strip (1). Do not pull off protective foil of both individual adhesive pads (2) on the new trim strip (picture 2).

Attach adhesive pads (2)

Only if the two adhesive pads (2) are not on the new trim strip.

Install new trim strip
