Remove/install

Detach rear complete wheels

Remove rear axle shafts at drive flange

 To do so, place cloth under rear axle shafts and place down on longitudinal member.

Remove/install/replace cover of drive flange

 The cover is only located on the short drive flange on the right in the direction of travel.

 Installation: Fit the new cover all the way on to the drive flange.

Remove/install/replace safety screw (1)

 Installation: Apply quick-acting adhesive, Loctite 270, to the new safety screw (1). Use one container of quick-acting adhesive, Loctite 270, for 25 vehicles.

 40 Nm

Remove/install/replace drive flange

 Removal: On both sides, carefully pull drive flange out of rear axle differential.

 Installation: To prevent damage to the needle roller bearing, pay attention to the radial shaft sealing rings and insert the new drive flange without tilting.

 120 Nm
